“To everybody at Macadamia Care Centre in Nelspruit, thank you for being a caring and loving family for the past four years.
In August 2015 my mom – Joe Naude, moved into her apartment, heartbroken and lonely after my dad passed away. A total stranger to the Lowveld, the first couple of weeks were hard. The warm welcome and sincere comfort from you, her new family was to say the least, extraordinary.
Every time she was hospitalized, we were supported by daily phone calls from the sister on duty or visited in hospital. On the very sad but memorable Friday in April she returned from Mediclinic to be admitted into Frail Care. Matron Lynn, Sister Petro and three care workers were waiting outside in the rain, welcoming her back.
Knowing that she didn’t have much time left, this heartwarming gesture made it all easier. Six weeks later Joe Naude passed away in her comfortable and friendly room in frail care.
When arriving at 2:15 at frail care, Sister Petro was waiting for us with hot tea and rusks, sharing the last few hours and comforting us. She was looked after and loved until the end.
Nobody could ever ask for a warmer home, for more personal attention, professional nursing and better care in their last days.
To every care worker, you care with passion – it shows. Nothing is too much, your time and service to everyone come with compassion. Thank you for making a difference without exception. I have experienced your dedication and commitment for more than four years. What a jewel in our community!
Taking hands with the excellent team of Care Buddies and Macadamia Village family who spoil them so often. The Village’s social hour once a month is a highlight and welcome change of scenery for the lonely.
The Staff of Macadamia Care Centre, we honour and respect you.”
