Nelspruit’s Valentine’s Day: So Much Love, It’s Heartwarming!
We all long for meaningful interactions and cherished moments. For many older adults, it’s easy to feel isolated, especially during celebrated days meant for connection and celebration. At MacCare in Nelspruit, we spread the love of Valentine’s Day, which was enjoyed and appreciated!
We started the festivities with a lively ‘speed dating’ lunch, transforming our usual routine into a heartwarming adventure. Residents switched up their seating to engage with new friends, swapping delightful numbered cups filled with treats – laughter echoed in every corner!
Today was just as magical. We started with a breakfast full of love-shaped delights, enjoyed an enchanting tea party with our amazing Care Buddies, and indulged in a delicious lunch from Feedem featuring chocolate cake topped with strawberries and ice cream—what more could one ask for?
A massive shout-out to our incredible staff member Petro, who organised the fun game, all our wonderful Care Buddies who spread joy throughout the day, and the brilliant kitchen team that whipped up such extraordinary meals. This special celebration reminded us of what fostering connections and creating lasting memories within our community means. Let’s keep this spirit alive all year round!
